Annual conference with speakers on a theme - this year Entrepreneurship
This year's SIMposium was on the subject of Entrepreneurship, as the title above demonstrates.
To an audience of some 40 people, including Apprentices, Scholars, Freemen and Liverymen a number of speakers, including Senior Warden of the Guild of Entrepreneurs and Executive Director of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship covered many aspects of this important subject.
Topics covered included what it takes to start one's own business, and a number of the technical aspects including Intellectual Property, Business Plans, and Exit Strategies. The day also included several case histories of successful start ups, including two from our own members, Freeman Ruth Amos and Freeman James Popper.
Feedback from members of the audience, after the event, was very positive, from young and old!
There was plenty of time allowed for members and guest speakers to interact throughout the day and we can also report, of two potentially new business relationships formed amongst members present!
