Big Bang winner wins special prize at ISEF
Amelia Perry of Engineering UK kept us informed of what was happening at ISEF and was delighted to report that Andrej Gizdov was given a special award of a scholarship for Arizona State University (he is in top left of this picture. He has not yet decided on his path after A-levels but is grateful for the opportunity to possibly continue his studies in the US.
There were no other awards to report as unfortunately no one from the UK received any grand awards at the final ceremony. However, Amelia said she knew the students got a lot out of the experience, so they headed back happy regardless. A lot of lessons learnt too which should improve further the experience for the next cohort of students in 2020.
She further stated that Andrey is extremely grateful for WCSIM's sponsorship and the fact it made his trip possible. He is currently in the middle of his A-level exams (he was revising on the plane) but I'm sure once he has them out of the way in the next month or so, he'll be more than happy to write something for WCSIM and share his experience.
