Annual Education Trust Supper preceded by presentations and networking event
This event, which is supported by a generous Past Master, brings together our younger Apprentices, Scholars and Freemen. The event started with attendees sharing their professional interests using a single slide with only two minutes presentation. Content of these presentations ranged from optical interferometry temperature sensors to entrepreneurial ventures developing 3D-scanned bespoke bras and the challenges of gathering social media data to the New International System of Units.
The presentations were followed by informal networking and then a supper. Sixty people attended and the after-dinner speech was given by Antony Walker of techUK who presented a more positive view of technology than we are used to reading in the media. Conversation was lively and very much focussed on the entrepreneurial opportunities of contemporary scientific instrument making.
