Visit to Charles Dickens Schools
For a number of years SIM has provided a financial donation to a number of schools close to the Hall to help them bring science alive to the children and students. Past Master Ron Summers recently paid a visit to the Charles Dickens School to see how they had used their donation.
The school has used some of the donation to help fund a greenhouse as part of their Forest School project. This has allowed pupils to exlore growing their own fruit and vegetables and learn about science and nature in a very practical way.
The school also purchased a number of books to help the children start to explore science and these books now form part of a well stocked library. The school really appreciates the continued support from SIM in helping the children explore science from an early age.
