 The Arthur Alcock wins the race The Worshipful Company Of Scientific Instrument Makers' Thames Cutter, the 'Arthur Alcock', today won the inaugural Oxbridge Watermen's Challenge Cup, kindly presented by the Worshipful Company of Tallow Chandlers.
 The Oxbridge Watermen's Challenge Cup The WCSIM cutter beat the Port of London Authority's cutter 'Penelope' by 5 seconds in a time of 6 minutes 38 seconds. The Lloyds Registry cutter 'Class Leader' was a close third in a time of 6 minutes 44 seconds.
 The WCSIM cutter leads The other entrants were Trinity House - 'Trinity Tide' (7 minutes 3 Seconds), The Worshipful Company of Tallow Chandlers - 'Tallow Chandler' (7 minutes 21 Seconds) and Wandsworth Council - 'Paul Setow' - 7 minutes 50 seconds.
 Applause for the winning team The course was from the Putney to Chiswick Bridge.
